Humble but Loving Beginnings
JoEtta's Blessing was created due to the love and kindness Joseph (Joe) and Luetta (Etta) Johnson provided their family members in their beautiful three-bedroom home. In 1970 Joseph worked as a longshoreman not only providing for his wife and two teenaged sons but also taking in three of their daughters and their families at the same time. The oldest daughter had a husband and two children, the middle daughter had a husband and three children, and the youngest daughter had three children. At the ages of 70 and 57 Joe and Etta simultaneously had 17 people living in their 3-bedroom home. Joe and Etta eventually helped their family members become self-sufficient and learn to live independently - but some people do not get breaks from caregiving. JoEtta’s Blessing, LLC was started January 30, 2025 due to the cries for help in the caregiving communities. Caregiving is not an easy task. Caregivers deserve "Me" time - time for "Self". JoEtta’s Blessing LLC allows Caregivers to take timeout to handle their "own" wellness. Whether it is a mini-vacation, a trip to the nail salon or a long overdue nap - we have a caring staff that offers Respite care with heavenly love while the Caregiver gets the rest they need.

JoEtta’s Blessing, LLC is a community-based adult respite and day services provider located in the Norfolk, Virginia area, serving families across Hampton Roads. Founded January 2025 our organization was built on a passion for helping individuals maintain their dignity while supporting families who need dependable, high-quality care solutions.
Our mission is to provide a safe, clean, loving, and structured environment where individuals can thrive socially, emotionally, and physically. At the same time, we aim to reduce caregiver stress by offering reliable respite services that promote mental wellness and balance.
We operate using a person-centered approach, tailoring services to each individual’s needs, preferences, and abilities. Whether someone requires minimal supervision or more hands-on support, our team is committed to delivering care with compassion, professionalism, and respect.
*JoEtta's Blessing is a small facility and can accommodate only four participants at a given time allowing for an intimate, stress-free environment. Please schedule accordingly, we are currently seeking a larger ranch-style facility with an expectancy of 10 maximum.
